HouseSpouse doesn’t actually live in a house.  It’s a small, one-bedroom in a courtyard walk-up in Chicago.  The floors slope dramatically and the fridge is propped on shims to keep it somewhat level.  But uneven counter tops and lack of space don’t keep her from loving to shuffle around the tiny kitchen, learning how to make the sorts of foods that cause dancing and weeping (with joy!) for friends and family.

She also isn’t really a house spouse, but a writer and graduate student of theology.
